Being a midwife for 20 years and with many years of experience as a private midwife, owner of a maternity and fertility clinic I have often experienced being contacted by pregnant women with various questions and problems. My experience is that it is of great importance to pregnant women, that they can have easy access to the midwife when they feel the need. It can be urgent concerns due to, for example, bleeding or pain, or it may be more general midwifery questions that the pregnant woman needs answered urgently.
Call The Midwife offers all pregnant - regardless of the week of pregnancy - a consultation with one of our experienced midwives seven days a week from 7am to 11pm.
The midwife provides a professional assessment of whether you need further examination at e.g. your own doctor, the emergency room or the delivery room. If you need a scan, we can help you with an appointment at a private scanning clinic in our nationwide network of partners. Our aim is to give you a time for scanning as soon as possible - preferably within 12 hours.
